Self-consumption with surpluses

Solar panels for homes

The photovoltaic installation comprises 24 Trina Solar (TSM275) polycrystalline panels distributed in two MPPT arrays connected to the SKTL5000 inverter. To increase self-consumption until 10:00 PM (winter) or 11:00 PM (summer), the turning point where the €/kWh price drops to 7¢/kWh in PVPC time-of-use tariffs, two 6.5kWh LG batteries with a 10-year warranty are integrated. Additionally, the electricity bill is reduced by lowering the contracted power from 10kW to 6kW. This solution, a cabinet with an integrated inverter and batteries, is beneficial when there is no sheltered area from the elements (direct sunlight and rain), thus allowing the useful life to exceed 25 years.

  • Investment: Single-family home with high electricity consumption, electric car, 200 meters of borehole (3kW pump), and 12kW aerothermal system. Yet, the reduction in electricity consumption has been more than 60%.
  • Savings: €6,400 subsidy with CAIB's photovoltaic installation grants.
  • Quality: A completely exterior installation that does not require space inside the home.
