Support for renewable energy from the European Union is driven by both its environmental and geopolitical advantages, as well as a business perspective, given its high potential for creating highly qualified jobs (such as design, construction, and facility maintenance) and its capacity to develop complementary and related investments in this sector. Projects for self-consumption installations of electrical energy from renewable energies or residual energies, in any of the modalities provided for in article 9 of Law 24/2013, of December 26, of the Electricity Sector, and article 4 of Royal Decree 244/2019
Points to keep in mind when applying for the grant:
The aid established in this resolution will be considered a subsidy and will have an intensity of up to 45% of the eligible project cost.
It may be increased by:
- 10 percentage points for aid to medium-sized enterprises
- 20 percentage points for assistance to small businesses (municipalities, public entities, and non-profit entities and institutions, provided they qualify as small businesses).
The maximum amount of funding per project may not exceed 200,000 euros.
Only generating facilities where the consumer and the owner of the production facilities are the same natural or legal person will be eligible for subsidies.
The following will not be considered eligible for financing under any circumstances:
a) Installations consisting exclusively of energy management and storage systems not linked to the generation system covered by this call.
b) Self-consumption facilities with energy storage that do not have intelligent charge/discharge management equipment intended for energy/economic optimization.
