Fotopar Grants 2023 are back

The Balearic Islands are once again launching a public call for applications for €3.5 million in grants for self-consumption solar photovoltaic and micro-wind energy installations . The next grants will be aimed at individuals and homeowners’ associations and may be 60% co-financed within the 2021-2027 ERDF Operational Program.

Who can benefit?

All natural persons domiciled in the Balearic Islands who do not carry out any economic activity by which they offer goods and/or services on the market and the communities of owners who carry out installations in homes or facilities located within the territorial scope of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands.

What actions are eligible for funding?

Individuals can request assistance for the following actions:

  1. New photovoltaic installations for self-consumption connected to the grid or isolated up to 5 kWp.
  2. New grid-connected or isolated micro-wind installations of up to 5 kW.
  3. Lithium-ion storage systems in isolated installations with a storage capacity of up to 30 kWh, and which have a minimum operating guarantee certified by the manufacturer of five years.

For homeowners’ associations, the following actions are eligible for subsidy:

  1. New installations of solar panels for self-consumption connected to the grid of up to 100 kWp.
  2. New micro-wind turbines of up to 10 kW. The turbines must be integrated into the landscape.

The investments eligible for the subsidy must be made within the period from January 1, 2022, to the deadline established in the granting resolution. This deadline will be a maximum of three months for individuals and six months for homeowner associations. However, in any case, the deadline will not exceed October 31, 2023.

Amount of aid

The amount of aid from the Fotopar 2023 subsidy varies depending on the power of the installation and its type, which is why the following is explained:

Photovoltaic installations: Total aid = mv (€/kWp) x Pf (kWp)

Where:

  • Pf is the power of the generating facility in kWp.
  • mv is a module that takes the following values:

Wind installations: Total aid = me (€/kW) x Pe (kW)

Where:

  • Pe is the actual power of the generating facility in kW.
  • me is a module that takes the following values:

Isolated installations with lithium ion storage systems: Total aid = ma (€/kWh) x C (kWh)

Where:

  • C is the capacity of the storage system in kWh.
  • ma is a module that takes the following values:

When can I apply for the Fotopar 2023 grant?

The deadline for submitting applications is from January 16, 2023 to July 28, 2023, or until they are exhausted.
